Star - Best Room

Can someone share what they believe is the best Oceanview Stateroom with a balcony on the Star? We are thinking of sailing her to Mexico this March and want to make sure we get a great room.

In March of 2004, we had 11628 and 11630 (mini-suites). In March of 2002, we had 10180 (balcony stateroom). All of them were wonderful and I would definitely pay to have the mini-suite again as it is larger and laid out nicer. Hope that helps.

Yes, it does help. If the mini isn't too much more we might splurge and get that!

We just had what might have been the cheapest balcony - 8560. Category BD. It was nice because we had no neighbors on one side (ie. much quieter)

Why do you say it was the cheapest? Did you get a good price? This room looks like it is larger than the other's around it? Do you think that's true?

On the Star's maiden voyage through the Panama Canal I had 11598. Great cabin. Good location. Loved the overhanging over the balcony that kept the sun off and made things a little cooler.

Side note: my favorite thing about the cabin amenities on the Star was the caller ID on the phones and the voicemail. Voicemail is great when you're traveling with a group.

Do you know why the cabin you were in was a different price than the other mini's on that deck? It looks like there are four mini's (11686,11688,11186, 11188) that are more expensive. I'm assuming AG's are more expensive than AF's. Just trying to figure out why those four rooms are different.

Doesn't look like the rooms are any bigger according to the deck diagram. But you never know. They are toward the middle...so maybe that's why.

I just want to book a cruise! My friends that we usually travel with are trying to get pregnant. So we have to wait and see what happens. If they get pregnant we will go on this cruise, if they don't we are going on RCL to Europe.

I just want something to look forward to and plan for! I have a real problem!
