I am handicapped and will be using a scooter to get around, is there any place for me to go after I get off of the ship??? I know there are probably no excursions that can take a scooter but around the port what is there that I can see and do? thank you ..:)

We're booked on the Miracle scheduled to be there on December 6 also. It's been a while since we've been there (~8 years ago) but based on what I've read lately and remember it's a busy shipping port that's pretty rough and not as well kept as other ports we've visited. There is a good sized downtown with local merchants you would see in any Central American town it's size and a small inside cruiser only shopping area like you see in most of the other ports.  We took a private tour with two other couples and visited a banana grove/processing area, a boat trip on the river, lunch on the beach and a visit to a regular grocery store for coffee and other local goods.

Bon voyage!
