Transportation from Stockholm to the Frihamnen pier

I am sure this has been asked (and answered) before, but I have waded through a number of posts and not found the answer.

We will be going from our hotel near Central Station on Sunday afternoon to board the Vision of the Seas. We were planning to take public transportation (its part of the adventure.) I got a routing from the transit journey planner - the metro redline to Karlaplan and then bus 1 to Frihamnen. Does that bus run on Sunday? How far from the pier does it leave you off? And are suitcases an issue on the bus?

Finally in case we run late. Does anyone know how much a taxi is from Central Station tp Frihamnen?

Thanks

Dale,

I've been researching the opposite direction for Sunday, July 11th, when we disembark in Frihamnen and need to get to the Sheraton near the train station. Bus 76 does not run on Sunday at Frihamnen, but Bus 1 does. I can't tell how far the bus stop is from the dock, but I'll find out soon :)

The Sheraton said a taxi for that trip costs around 200 SEK, and recommends only a few taxi companies: Taxi Stockholm, Taxi Kurir, and Taxi 020. The "black taxis" are unlicensed and may charge more than they should. Here is a nice blog post on taxis from a CCer local to Stockholm:

You might want to wade through the 'Do You Need Advice about Stockholm' thread, which has info on this also: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1017275

Have a great trip!

I was looking into this the other day since I'm also traveling on the Vision of the Seas in July.

Here is the link to the Bus 1 schedule (in Swedish, Söndag=Sunday). You will see on Sunday that is stops in the port (Frihamnen). If you look up the port in Google Maps you can see the bus stops if you zoom in.

If you go on their website you can also punch in a route to Magasin 3 bus stop which is where I believe the ship is docking. You would take the T-Bana to Gärdet then catch the Bus 1 to Frihamnen and then walk the remaining 100 or so meters since Bus 1 doesn't stop at Magasin 3.

Can any locals confirm if this is accurate?
