Seville on a Sunday

We are considering spending the day in Seville when our ship is in Huelva on October 22 - a Sunday. I've seen threads indicating that all or most of the shops will be closed on Sunday. That doesn't discourage me from still making the trip to Seville as long as there's still life in the streets. We visited Seville two years ago and really enjoyed it, so we would like to go back. At that time, we visited most of the highlight sights, and our plan for this trip is just to walk and wander and soak up the ambiance of Seville. While it's not really a problem if shops are closed, it could be a problem if restaurants are closed and the city feels too quiet. We would spend most of our time in the Old Town and Barrio Santa Cruz. Will we find activity - locals, restaurants, people wandering the streets - or will the city offer very little on a Sunday? We love seeing local flavor, daily life, so if the locals are enjoying their Sunday with friends, family, etc., then we would like to experience that. Please share with me your knowledge of Seville on a Sunday and what we may find there. Thanks!

Yes, the shops will be closed on a Sunday, but there will be plenty of people out in the streets. It can still be hot in Seville at that time of year, so you may want to go for a walk in the Maria Luisa Park or Plaza Espana. Both places will be full of people, especially families.

Bars and restaurants will be busy as many people go out for family Sunday lunches.
