Arrival time for POM Celebrity ship leaves at 3:30?? 1:15-1:30 good? bad? long lines?

Been on enough cruises we don't need to be one of the 1st on the ship. Usually our cruises leave around 6-7pm but this year we leave at 3:30. Celebrity says their cutoff is 1 hour before so we were thinking 1:15-1:30ish.

Flight is the day before an visiting friends before going to the port that live 10min away an will drop us off.

They typically want you to check-in by 90 minutes before scheduled departure, so 2pm in your case.

We waited in line for over an hour at POM for the Equinox cruise on 10/6. Arrived at 12:15. By the time we were checked in at 1:15, the lines were still very long. That day there had been a Coast Guard inspection, so boarding was delayed until 12:00. Also, we were in Aqua, so they sent us to one of many "priority" lines, and it still took forever. Worst check in in 27 Cruises.

As mentioned, be in the terminal by 2:00. No one can predict lines and waits.

Usually cut off time is 90 minutes before as mentioned.

If it was me I would get there early to board at noon.

As mentioned, you simply don't know how long it will take to actually get into the Port. Your ride is ten minutes away but if you cut it too close and are held up in a delay of 20 minutes at the entrance due to security or traffic, you will be WAY stressed. The 90 minute rule exists for a reason so since you asked, my advice is to have a nice morning visit with your friends and ask them to drop you at the port at noon.

Remember, Day 1 is a day you've paid for and I think most passengers would rather be on board and enjoying the ship than stuck in traffic or waiting too late. :)
