Stateroom_Sailor Posted March 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) Someone posted photos a few weeks ago, and got discouraged by criticism of the food. I'll admit, much of it looked deep fried with little presentation, but that may have just been what the OP ordered that night. Even if so, I would guess that the 3-4 day cruises on the Inspiration and Imagination would get better feedback than the 7 day ships just from the 20-something year old partiers. As long as Carnival listens to both demographics, and there are at least a few traditional style meals on the new menus, maybe they're on to something. This post is for education purposes, many are curious. Carnival loyalists and those who want to throw the baby out with the bathwater, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Princess Ariel Posted March 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2014 I am not a food picture taker so unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the food from the 4 night Inspiration cruise we just took. The only food picture I took was of the frog legs since it was the first time I had tried them :) . I have to say that there was not much deep fried food. Calamari is the only thing that is coming right to my mind at the moment. The presentation to me had not really changed and was on par with our Oct sailing. The food we had was tasty and served at the appropriate temperatures. The service however was lacking, the food selection was not as large as the old menu, and the amount of work on the servers had a negative impact. Shmoo here Posted March 25, 2014 #12 Share Posted March 25, 2014 did they do away with tablecloths? Not on the Inspiration. I peeked underneath, the table tops were those basic white plastic catering style tables. Not real attractive.
Rare 1kaper Posted March 25, 2014 #13 Share Posted March 25, 2014 did they do away with tablecloths? The idea is yes, they are. Out of the 4 ships with the new menu, one ship still has them Many believe it is due to the tables and they will go when the tables are replaced. There are still table clothes on elegant night. Stateroom_Sailor Posted March 25, 2014 Author #14 Share Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) Oh thanks so much for posting, this is definitely a relief! Some of these pictures are making me hungry! I'll have to taste it to see if it's on the level of the old menu, but it doesn't look like I'm going to go hungry either way ;) Edited March 25, 2014 by Stateroom_Sailor

canadiangal40 Posted March 25, 2014 #16 Share Posted March 25, 2014 Hi 1Kaper, post#9 the first picture states "oysters". Those appear to be mussels, not oysters. Were they listed as oysters on the menu? Just curious, what I'll get when I order them. ;)

I was really tired last night and rushing. They were definitely mussels, and listed as such. At least I know people are reading it.
