dateacher Posted January 22, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2018 I've decided that with the length of my bucket list, we are better off taking a cruise of the Greek Islands. In looking at some options, I have found a cruise in August. My husband believes (based on information from a Greek friend) that everything shuts down and it's a terrible time to go. I, on the other hand, can't believe they would totally shut down with ships in ports. Can anyone shed some light on this?
CruiserBruce Posted January 22, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2018 July and August are peak vacation time for people to travel to the Med. So, no, they don't shut down. At least not in the common tourist area.
Rare Keith1010 Posted January 22, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2018 The downside is that it can be very hot and humid. As CruiserBruce notes most things are open. Keith
LondonTowner Posted January 22, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Places won't be shut down as they are catering for holidaymakers. However, personally I would avoid July / August as it is very hot and crowded Sent from my iPad using Forums
