Urgent Shoe Shopping Question

One of my friends recently returned from Austraila with a new collection of Havaianas - apparently the best flip-flops known to woman (or man). They are Brazilian, designer, and super comfortable.

I did a search on their website and it shows Nassau as being a dealer site, but it looks like an import-export address and not a storefront.

Does anyone know if these flip flops are for sale there, and if so, what stores I should look for??

Thanks - I'll have a look for sure. Hopefully it will be a short search.

We are in port from 8-2 and I'm wondering what you'd recommend we do for such a short stop. We're saving our beach afternoon for another port, so I'd be interested in must-see sights, must-do shops, and anything else you, as a Nassau Native might recommend.

I'm the only one of my group that wants to try conch - is it easily available - I'm thinking fritters, not raw.

I've heard that going to "the fish fry" is the coolest way to get to sample all of the native's fresh seafood in all forms! It's a bus ride to Arawak Cay, I think they said #10 bus, not far from the port. They have it every day out in the open for all to join in, and I hear it's the local's favorite! Correct me if I'm wrong, Colyn! My ferry bartender told me so!

Nursejewels has it right ... the "Fish Fry" can be a blast - Goldie's is one of the most popular spots there. There's generally a bit more customer traffic in the evenings that during the day, however.

On the other hand, if all you want to do is sample conch, etc. and you don't want to go too far from the port, try Conch Fritters Restaurant ... it's just across the street from the Hilton British Colonial. Pleasant atmosphere and great conch fritters as well as other typical local dishes as well as European and American fare.

Thanks all. Just one more sleep and I'm enroute to Florida and my cruise. Vacation is just a whisper away and I can't wait!

I got my Havaianas at a little surf shop at the end of Bay Street!!! It wasn't called Girls from Brazil, but it may have been once upon a time. No matter. I got them. I love them. They were just $10!
