Safety in Nassau [walking to Atlantis?]

Hi all!

My BF wants to walk from the cruise pier to Atlantis.

I searched the boards for LGBT Nassau safety threads...but all were MANY years old! How is safety in Nassau these days? Of course stay "on" the beaten path, no shows of public affection, etc...BUT...

I am trying to be agreeable and compromise and stuff...you know...but...that sounds "off" the beaten path to me.

I've been to Nassau three times already and twice with female friends went to the Zoo and had a fine time. Took the #10 jitney. That is touristy.

Are my feelings unfounded? I don't think so?

We walked to Atlantis from the cruise dock several years ago. It's farther than it looks, about 2 miles. We stopped at the rum cake factory on the way. We took a cab back. It's a major street and felt safe.

When we did it, people who weren't guests at the resort were able to freely wander around. I've heard they've cracked down on this practice and now only allow non-guests in the casino. They have several options to purchase access to other spots at the resort.
