Booze

The cruise lines are aware of this method and do look for it. If it becomes too prevalent then cruise lines will prohibit wine from being brought onboard, the same way that many no longer allow bottles of water and soda.
This.

If you want to make a cocktail in your cabin, order a bottle of booze from room service. It's as easy as picking up the phone.

OR book your cruise on lines that do not have restrictions on bringing wine or spirits aboard for use in your cabin (at no extra cost).

I really doubt that anyone who is contemplating replacing wine with liquor in order to save money is really all that interested in sailing on one of those lines. Another thing to think about- do you really want to sail with them on your favorite cruise line?;)

Who I would like to see join my favorite cruise line are more folks who've worked hard for their money and who may erroneously not consider that line (or others like it) only because they haven't done the bottom line "net daily rate" math.

Hi

Is a hundred dollars to have a bottle delivered to your cabin going to break your budget? Are you going to spend money on anything else on this cruise that you could cut back on?

If the answer to the first question is yes and the second no, then, if I were you, I would just put a couple of smaller bottles in my checked bag and hope they don't find them. No point sneaking around. Put them in a ziploc bag in case they break.

good luck

have a great cruise

oh yeah by the way, welcome to cruise critic. If you spend some time learning from this site about your ports of call or your cruise line, you might save yourself enough money to pay for the bottle next time
