We booked our Oct ‘19 11-day voyage while the Landmark promotion was in place. It gave us each a $500 OBC. So, we’ll keep watching for a price drop (it would need to be $200+ each) to see if we take advantage of this.

How can there be OBC up to $800 per stateroom when the maximum on the chart was $200 per person for 13+ days in a balcony or above? Is the $800 including the value of gratuities?

This sale is slightly reduced from the previous ones, if this chart is correct. Last two seasons we received $150 OBC per person for an inside 14 day cruise. This year it is $100 per person. We will likely still book a cruise - but a little more erosion....

Ah - I figured out the $800 max OBC thing. It is based on 4 in a room. So the max for two in a room is $400.

I've emailed my agent and asked him to check both of my existing bookings on the 6th and adjust things accordingly. For our 13 day sailing, we stand to gain over $500 if the price stays the same.

We have a 10day BTB with a 15day w/SNS. My wife not a big drinker, but I can and do power through 15 beers a day. SNS still comes out ahead for us, and that's only looking at me buying it.

Hope to get price lists to see the lowest price by type of cabin to get an idea of prices before my TA contacts them on 9/6 to try to add it to our reservation which she’s done several times for us.

It really is strange that Princess does this - maybe there are marketing reasons, Princess would surely not favor one geographic segment over another. They want all the passengers they can get. There also seem to be restrictions on OZ cruises. Don't know if local regulations come into play. If I were you I'd be ticked off too.

Aussie friends said they get 3FF in their late summer season just like in North America. So availability appears to based more on the season than on the actual months.

Yes and a small OBC. Found out about the offer here on CC. And yep if the grats were not included, we probably would have stayed with the Landmark sell through Princess that included a bigger OBC than 3FF. Just have to research them all and get the one that makes you happy.

And based on posts in other threads, the Aussie 3ff is not as good a deal as the one for USA & Canada.

I’ve booked several cruises during the Three for Free Promotion then end up changing them to the Anniversary Promotion because I end up saving more even having to pay tips. It never crosses our mind to remove the tips. I’ll never understand that mind set, but I guess it’s a custom issue that will just continue to exist. No reason to put anyone down over it. It does makes me wonder though if the crew prefers Caribbean schedules over European schedules. Do they get more tips on one over the other?

Would we be able to get this '3 for free' promo if we sign up before Nov 19 while onboard our Nov 17-27 cruise? Would we also get future cruise credits for signing up and paying a deposit while onboard? Thanks.

I've recently learned that gratuities are pooled fleet-wide and then distributed. This eliminates any significant differences caused by variations of cruising location as well as the predominate custom of the passengers from cruise to cruise.

By waiting to purchase the $100 FCD on your cruise to use as your deposit you could find your preferred type of cabin soldout because space is limited. So there could still be available cabins but none that are eligible for 3FF.

If you want a specific cabin (and you're in the United States), go ahead and book now with the current S&S promotion - you have nothing to lose. Once 3FF starts, you can change your booking to that promotion at the then current price (if it's better than the deal you booked) and keep your booked cabin - as long as there are any available cabins in your category. There's no advantage to waiting.

Booking on the first day should greatly increase the odds of booking your preferred cabin with the 3FF benefits. :D

I’m hopeful of adding 3FF to our November 2019 cruise but not optimistic that it’ll be available for our cabin on a popular cruise. Even if possible, a fare increase could offset the benefits resulting in a higher net cost.

The reason promos differ between country's is because the terms and conditions on the contracts vary by country which is dictated by the country's consumer protection laws. Another example is insurance policies which in the US even differ by state.
