We will be Princess in January doing the Cape Horn/ Straits of Magellan cruise, going from Santiago to Buenos Aires. What kind of weather should we expect and what kind of clothes need to be packed? :)

You need layers! In December 2016 to early January 2017 we did the LA to Rio (including Santiago to BA obviously) cruise and the temperatures ranged from the upper 40s (morning temps) with lots of wind in Tierra del Fuego to the 90s in Santiago and BA to 110 (!) in Rio. Luckily we had very little rain but in the coldest places (and out on deck in Tierra del Fugeo) you'll need a fleece covered by a waterproof jacket (waterproof your shoes too), hat and gloves, and warm pants. In the hottest places the fewer clothes the better! We took lightweight slacks, sundresses, t shirts, etc. Remember a sunhat and sunscreen too.
