Questions about accessibility on Boats in Canal, and Train in Puerto Limon

My husband and I are booked for the 2/28/18 cruise on the HAL Zuiderdam, and have purchased shore excursions listed below: The Canal Experience from Gatun to Colon, as well as Caribbean Train, Countryside & Tortuguero Canals in Puerto Limon

I'm wondering whether the boats and the train are going to be easy for me to board. I am short (5'2") and I also have bad knees and am wondering whether it's realistic to try to do these. A big step up will be a challenge.

Does the train have a step stool? How high is the step onto the train? I'm not as worried about the boats, but maybe I should be.

Thanks for any advice.
