Hamburg to Copenhagen

We have been looking at the nautical charts for our Baltic cruise this summer and noticed that there are bridges for the ship to go under whichever way the ship goes.

Can anyone tell me whether we approach Copenhagen from the north or south?

When we did the Baltic trip we approached from the North and left to the South but not under the bridge. We went down the canal that goes over the tunnel to the artificial island where the bridge to Sweden starts. The Captain said this was possible because of spring tides and a low fuel load because we were refuelling in Russia. He said there was a clearance of 4 metres if I recall correctly. We went very slowly over the tunnel! I assumed this was not always possible. On leaving the Baltic we went the longer route under the Jutland bridge as

presumably the air draught of the ship is too great for the Denmark Sweden bridge.
