Back to back cruises from Southampton

We are doing 3 back to back cruises on Q.V. out of Southampton and keeping the same cabin on all cruises.

Will we be able to stay on board while in Southampton or do we have to disembark and embark all over again ?

Yes. You will be cleared by UK officials while aboard on the way over (unlike in the other direction)

You use the same Key . Your original key card will/should indicate ( in small print) your embarkation date and the disembarkation date.

Doesn't that depend on whether the back-to-back cruises have been booked as a single voyage (under one booking reference number) or as separate voyages (under different booking references numbers)? The OP did not mention whether their trip is booked under one or multiple booking reference numbers, but I think that may make a difference.

We booked a round-trip crossing from New York in 2016 as two separate voyages (two different booking reference numbers). Even though we were in the same stateroom for both voyages, at check-in in New York we were issued key cards that only covered the dates of the first voyage. During the last sea day before our arrival in Southampton, new key cards were delivered to our stateroom for the return crossing back to New York.

Has that procedure changed or does it make a difference that the OP's voyages all originate in Southampton?

Your are correct , bluemarble it does make a difference if the booking is under three separate booking. I assumed the booking was under one booking number, as the OP indicated that they had the same cabin for their complete cruise. Perhaps they will come back and clarify.

For Queen Mary guests, who are in- transit , yes the MDR is open for lunch ( usually they will be directed to the upper level)

Sorry for delay in coming back...we just arrived home from another cruise. Yes the QV cruises we have are back to back with the same cabin,but different booking numbers

Assuming you booked it as one voyage and have the same cabin, there will be no changes in Southampton, you'll have the same card, dining room assignment, everything. The lunch venues or hours may change and, if your World Club status gives you free internet hours, you'll get another allocation on your return.

Last year, we enjoyed the peaceful ship with a plethora of available window seats in the Golden Lion Pub and Chart Room - and had a delicious pub lunch.

...Even if you don't do any excursions, if you need to pick up any forgotten sundries or miscalculated grooming aids, they run a free, quick shuttle bus to the nearby Westquay Mall with a Boots chemist [drug store] amongst the usual collection of stores.

Are you sure about the shuttle bus to West Quay? I asked Cunard about a shuttle for our upcoming B2b and was told that they do not run one. I hope they do as will need more toiletries.

This is exactly the type of thing that asking Cunard is advance can be useless for. It seems that port details like exact times are never disclosed, nor is firm info on shuttles or transfers.

Last May, they mentioned something about a charge of five pounds or so round-trip, but no money was ever collected.

There have been a couple visits in Southampton thus year. Does anyone have more recent experiences?

It's a short distance which is either an inexpensive cab ride or a long walk (about a mile)
