Rhapsody of the Seas

Recommended Posts

On Rhapsody in just over four weeks. It might be a bit small, but I still can't wait.

If nothing else, I will go float in the pool in the evenings.

In the past we have enjoyed the pools late in the evening.

Unfortunately, with the new lifeguard program, ships have been closing them earlier.

We will be on her again out of Venice in the summer for the last time.

Apparently she has been sold and will be leaving the fleet at the end of the summer season this year.

She is not scheduled to leave the end of the summer.

There are currently bookings available thru November of 2019

Apparently we are booked for 5 weeks in Nov/Dec 2018 and she is well alive and waiting for us flying the RCI flag.

Looks like we will be on the ship at the same time for a while. We are booked for 6 weeks starting 11/10.

I'm on Rhapsody in October. I would love to hear more feedback about the ship and the crew.

I will be happy to share more information when I get home. Sadly some people have to state mean comments. Everyone has different options they are looking for on their cruise.

We were on Rhapsody March 18-25. Plenty of live music (Centrum, Shall We Dance, Pool, etc). Many things to do. Only the boring are bored!

No need to be rude! This forum is about opinions, and apparently as they say, everyone has one.

I was just on the Rhapsody from March 25th - April 1st. We went to Key West, Couzmel, Belize City and Costa Maya. This was my third cruise, all with Royal Caribbean, and overall we had a really good time. I went with my boyfriend and two of our friends. To the person that said there wasn't any live music, that just isn't true. There was a band that played very frequently on the pool deck and one that was almost always playing in the centrum. It seemed like every time i walked through the schooner bar someone was playing the piano and singing, and of course there was the live preformances in the theatre.

There is always something on the cruise compass to do, whether it something you want to do or not....that's your choice. We participated in trivia, watched three late night comedy shows, we watched two movies by pool side later at night, went to kareokee twice, played the Quest, went dancing in the Vikings lounge almost every night, amongst other things. There was the casino, multiple bars, multiple shows, the belly flop contest, the sexy man contest, dancing, singing, the rock wall, ect. I will admit, there were times i wished i was on a ship that had a flow rider, or putt-putt and the guys wanted a basketball court (in the future we will cruise on ships that have this) but the service we recieved was excellent. And the food was wonderful. Matey was our server in the main dining room and he made our experience perfect, always going above and beyond. We saw Monica in the Viking longue almost every night to get our drinks. She was a great bartender! She made us all laugh and have a great time!

The ports of call overall were good. We had a FANTASTIC time in key West! We all want to go back! The amount of time we spent there was perfect. Couzmel was nice, we went to a beach, the amount of time we spent there was good too. My boyfriend and i did cave tubing in Belize and really enjoyed that. Costa Maya was a lot like Cozumel in my opinion, but i thought that the time we spent there was a little ridiculous. We got there at 7am and had to be back on the ship by 3:30, so if you were doing your own thing and wanted to make sure you didnt waste your entire day you had to make sure you woke up early and got off the ship, but you missed the hottest part of the day.

Like i said, overall, it was a good trip. Great service, great food. The ship is old, it's small, definitely nothing like the new ships, nothing even like the ships like the Independence of the Seas, but if you look for things to do, you will find them.

Hope that is helpful

Thank you for your comments. Rhapsody was our first cruise in 1998 and we had a great time. Having been on the bigger ships now and Rhapsody being older we were a little concerned about it showing its age and not having enough to keep us occupied. Hoping for a great crew as well. This will also be our first time in a junior suite. Really looking forward to this cruise. Thanks.

We are doing the same itinerary in 3.5 weeks and this will be my 9th cruise, all with Royal. Any tips for the port stops? We have booked Cave Tubing as well and have a Mayan ruins excursion planned for Costa Maya, but we were just going to wander around Key West and Cozumel (we have been to Coz once before).

I am on the ship now. I was concerned because I saw so little info. Now I know why. NOTHING to do on here. This is a spring break time. Last night in the theater...Ballroom Dancing show...ugh. They do not have satellite tv so on big screen & in rooms it is a constant loop. So many, many things I do not like about this ship. Look for another option!

Doesn't look like Rhapsody is being sold anytime soon! I just booked a 7-night cruise on her from Tampa for my birthday in February, 2020!!;p Looking forward to my spacious ocean view balcony, corner AFT!!

We just got off the Rhapsody and there was a great deal going on all the time. Live music on the pool deck, in the Centrum, in the Schooner Bar and, as always, the main show band were all very talented musicians.

So, the option to do nothing still exists. But, there are many other options available if one wants to keep busy.

That's what I love about cruising. You can do as much or as little as you want.

We always have a balcony which we love to relax on if we don't fancy doing anything else.

I will forever think of Betty Draper whenever someone says they’re bored!

I’m going on Rhapsody in September and, frankly, probably am a little boring! LOL

Have great ports and one sea day - in which I’m fine relaxing by a pool reading a book.
