NYC St. Patrick’s Day

We are embarking on St. Patrick’s Day at the MCT. Driving in from RI. Will the parade hold up our arrival at the terminal or is it far enough away from the ships?

As far as I remember it goes down 5th ave , cruise terminal on 12th ave

You should be OK except there are 2 million visitors at the parade and there could be more traffic as you get closer to NYC. Best to leave a little earlier than planned.

The parade is on 5th Ave. from 44th St. to 79th St.

I don't know your planned route to get from RI to NY, but your best route from upper Manhattan to the cruise terminal is to take the Henry Hudson Parkway (aka West Side Highway, aka Rt 9A) south to the cruise terminal. When the highway ends at 59th St. large signs will direct to the cruise terminal entrance.

By taking this highway You'll be going nowhere near the parade route.

IMO the $6 toll on the Henry Hudson Parkway keeps the traffic down. Do you have the cars only route through Westchester County to avoid I95 (the infamous Cross Bronx Expressway)?

There still will be extra traffic from those driving in from the tristate area to view the parade plus extra traffic from those avoiding the parade route. Add extra time to be on the safe side
