Beverage Program- no soft drinks?

I think I read that the Ultimate Beverage Program does not include soft drinks. If that's correct, what is to stop me from ordering a "rum and coke but hold the rum" or a "seven and seven but hold the whiskey" or even a screwdriver without the vodka? Seems it would save money in the long run; sometimes I just want a cold drink.

It includes soft drinks.

Norwegian's Ultimate Beverage Package includes a variety of spirits, cocktails, wines by the glass and bottled or draft beer up to and including $15 USD and unlimited fountain soda and juices at all bars, lounges, restaurants and the Great Stirrup Cay. A 20% discount will be applied to all bottles of wine purchased on board.

What do u mean soda beverage station. ???

For UDP? if I want soda in the casino u are saying they won't give a can?

How do I get soda in casino or mdr if it's not a can with UDP

They will give it to you in a glass, not a can. It will have come from a fountain, not a can.

.......unless that bar is not fountained up, in which case they will pour your glass from a bottle or a can.

That's the way I have seen it in the past. But if you want your soda in the can unopened just tip the waiter or bartender a buck and it's yours. I like to have a few cans of soda in my cabin and this works for me. Easy workaround especially if you have the UBP. Happy waiter Happy Cruiser!

You totally can have soft drinks! Anything at the bar really that isn't over $15. (No bottled water or atrium tea/coffee though!)

As far as the special promotional cups go. You can still have them but you have to pay, if you order the drink with the UBP they'll just assume you don't want the cup unless you ask specifically :-)

Ive written more about what the package doesn't/does include here if you fancy a read: http://cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.co.uk/2016/09/10/ncls-ubp/

Make sure you try the mango meltdown and the raspberry mojito!

Think the cruise lines are more than happy to save themselves some money but serving you soft drinks. :D
