Offers received from Club Royale (Royal Caribbean)

Don't you just love the new program ? Only as good as your last cruise regardless of how well you may have done in the past. Totally ridiculous.

It makes no sense to me. I understood how many were using past play to get discounts and other perks but that was not me. Generally I had 10k +’pts on each cruise. One cruise, in Europe, that was very Port intensive, leaving early each morning and returning late. We just showered, ate, and crashed, ready for the next full day. We were taking Royal Excursions, with Michael Bailey. Probably spent more on these than money I would have dropped in the Casino between the two of us.

If they count my avg play over the timeframe stated, I should be alright.

As was mentioned in the Casino Program Changes thread, some of us are not receiving promotional offers from Club Royale, and in that thread, those who had received offers were sharing the offer details with the rest of us so that we could find out whether we qualified for them as well.

I don't receive promotional emails from Royal Caribbean for some reason, but I do receive USPS mailings, so I found out about this offer.

Used to get free cruises all the time, lately not much, that's why we've spent most of our gambling time on Carnival lately!

Spent the day in the water at St Martin, I was off a Carnival Ship Casino cruise, the guy I was talking to off a RCL Casino cruise, and he told me this,,,,

RCL will look at your last cruise, so,,,,book a bunch, and gamble big on the last cruise of the one's you booked to maintain a good rep with the club!

RCL still offers the most to the biggest gamblers, but changed their Club Royale a while back cause they were losing mid range gamblers to Carnival and NCL, who run clubs that don't look at one cruise, or even your last one, but at the last year! NCL runs the simplest, most open, pts accumulate over a year period, the level you reach lasts for a year while you accumulate pts. towards next years level!

As we see it, Carnival is the easiest to keep, NCL is the most open, and RCL gives the most if you're a big gambler! But remember, 'squeaky wheel', you gotta say something if you feel shorted!

We sail carnival and royal both. With the way it has been we know exactly what we will get from royal due to knowing if we get so many points we have an inside, ov, or balcony. With carnival we can get those same points and get absolutely nothing.

Sailed on both in january and the royal was a 5 day and got ov and carnival was 7 day with more points and the offer was crap. We still get other offers from royal like the egg hunt next week in balcony and october allure in balcony. Get cash and premiere offers from carnival so it does kind of even out if offered cash too. Royal has been better for us.

It is my understanding that a Carnival point is $2 in the slot machine. A Royal point is $5 in the slot machine. 2 1/2 times a Carnival point.

That is true. I had way more points on Carnival for the 7 day than the 5 day on Navigator and I got a OV for Royal and nothing for Carnival. It is really an eye opener to read the Carnival casino fb page at all the unhappy people. I will still sail Carnival if I receive premiere invites (Caribbean) with cash that equals to an almost free cruise.

We are actually scheduled for the RT to Hawaii on Carnival in January. Really no special deal we just want to go to Hawaii without flying there.

I should add that in my previous post I should no t have said same points. But even with more points I didn’t even rate an inside.

Can anyone tell me if on the RCCL's golf cruise to Bermuda if they provide loaner golf clubs or if I need to bring some?

Thanks,

You can bring your own, otherwise they are available to rent at the course. They had told me the price but I don't remember what it was. If you call Club Royale they will tell you.

Update on casino rates:

I just called to have a cruise priced through CR and was told that in order to receive a "real" casino rate, the cruise you are booking (new cruise) can be no further out than 1 year of the date of your LAST sailing. Up until now, the "rule" (not that they ever followed the rules, in the first place) had always been that the cruise couldn't be any further out than 1 year from the time you are trying to book. My last cruise was in November 2017, meaning that I would not be able to book a casino rate cruise any further into the future than November 2018. I was pricing a cruise in March 2019. So no casino rate for me.

So I have a cruise in April (next month). I guess I will have to wait until I get off that cruise to get any kind of casino rate on the cruise I want to book in March 2019.

Very disappointing. This is really going to limit people who cruise infrequently to get casino rates. Those who cruise frequently will be eligible for far more casino rates than those who do so less often.

And if you wait the cruise you want may not be available at the price you want. If you reserve today and then reprice after you have a certificate and the price is higher you will be quoted on the rate the day you call.

And to add to that, if you get a certificate from the ship based on your points, they said you will not get a casino rate either. I recently got off a cruise and got a free OV voucher (or $750 toward any cruise). When I call to use it on an upcoming cruise, they said I won't get casino rate because I am using a certificate. So I paid more money and get a little reduction because of this certificate. Doesn't look like CR care about us at all.

I knew this one. They quit allowing certificates to be combined with casino rates a while back....but this is the first I had heard of the "one year" rule being applied to the date of your last cruise. I always thought it was 1 year from the date that you were trying to book.

The certificates have been pretty much useless to us for some time. The only offers that I have found to be useful at all are the ones that are coming via email for comp. rooms for casino "events". I have been able to upgrade those very affordably to something that I really wanted (e.g., ocean view to a balcony or even higher for very little money). I parlayed my ocean view comp on the upcoming Allure 8 April Blackjack tournament cruise all the way to Star Class.

Waiting to see how they treat us on this April 9 Allure cruise. That is after the official "start date" of the new program. Withholding final judgement until then.

Yes, they completely reprice the cruise when you either apply a certificate or have a casino rate applied so if the base price of the cruise has increased a lot, your casino discounts/rates won't even help.

Longing for the old days when you could apply a certificate to an existing cruise without repricing and get a casino rate on any cruise that was in their inventory and combine a certificate + casino rate.

I agree on this. It was certainly better for the players. Including the cash waiting at the casino cage...

I talked with Club Royale today as my September cruise I didn’t get 1000 pts. We had booked Harmony for April 7 with the Casino so I asked would I get my sticker on April cruise? The answer was no but I would once I reach a 1000 pts. So cruise on CR But no perks in Casino to begin with. They also told me the tiers are supposed to be rolled out before the end of this month. Probably no new news here.

hmmm if the new program is rolled out by end of this month, according to the tier structure flyer that is floating around, if you had 2,500 or more cumulative from June '16-December '17, you should receive free drinks in the casino on your April cruise.

So, does that mean if I had 800 points on my last cruise, that I will get a sticker on my next cruise after 200 points? Thanks....

Currently, when you reach 1,000 points on a cruise, you qualify for free drinks on that cruise and the entire next cruise. The 800 points from your last cruise would not factor in for the free drinks on your next cruise under the current system.
