Platinum on NCL, NO PRIORITY as advertised

On my disembark of ship I was supposed to get priority status...all I got was a wait in a 2 hour line behind the walk offs....WHY CANT WE BE PRIOR TO WALKOFFS...PROBABLY 10 MINUTES, THEN THE WALKOFFS CAN GO????

Yet another negative associated with big cruise ships (i.e., anything more than 1,250 passengers)?

All you had to do was tell your steward or one of the officers and they would have taken you to the front of the line.

Not EVERYONE wants to be 1st off! Why didn't you just go with the walk-offs?

I think you are getting some things confused.

If you waited in a line for 2 hrs. behind the walk offs (self assist), it was because you chose to wait in line. Just as they chose to wait in line. It's not like they were actually in the process of debarking for 2 hrs.. What they did, and yourself as well, was to choose to get into a line 2 hrs. before anyone was able to get off the ship. The greater the number of people that want/need to be first the longer the lines.

What you can do if you are trying to avoid waiting in this type of line, is to find a comfortable place to sit and when debarkation actually does start, you proceed to the debarkation point. Now, you won't be the first person off, but you won't have stood in a line for 2 hrs. either.

To your point about going before the walk offs...typically even in that group there would be a priority section. You could have been in that group if you were able to debark with all your luggage. Now the reason you aren't able to proceed before these people is that they are taking their luggage off themselves. While your luggage is being unloaded and sorted in a somewhat organized way by the ships crew. That is why they have people coming off the ship in zones, in an organized way (as long as the passengers comply). Basically, the reason there would be no point to your leaving the ship before the walk offs, is because you luggage isn't there yet and you would have to wait some more anyways.
