Diamond Princess in Sydney

She docked this morning. Interesting to see so many passengers up on the forward deck at 4:00 a.m. for the sail in. The cam is now pointing at the Sydney Opera House. Only 392 days to go until our Australian/NZ cruise on Sapphire Princess. Can't wait.:)

I also saw the Opera House on the Diamond cam earlier today. Yippie!!! That means that we'll be reading some great reviews of the ports very soon!!

She looked beautiful in the Harbour, especially at night time. I was wizzing around the Harbour on a little boat, starring at her and being jealous of the passengers!

Interesting to see so many passengers up on the forward deck at 4:00 a.m. for the sail in.

It is one of the most spectacular harbour entrances in the whole world. It's worth every ounce of the pain of getting up that early in the morning. You have to make sure you're up on deck before you enter the heads, so that you can see the cliffs of the shoreline, and then the entrance to Port Jackson opens up between the heads and in you slip. Magical, just magical.

We leave on Diamond Princess Feb.1 Sydney to Auckland. We leave at 9:00pm so will miss early morning arrival but can only imagine sailing out at night. On another note do you have any sage advice re: Diamond Princess. Thanks.

Just to let you know if you go to Roll call Princess Cruises and the select Diamond Princess and Feb 1, you'll find a bunch of shipmates for the Feb 1 cruise. We are actually leaving on the 22nd and touring around Austraila for 10 days prior to boarding.

Travelax(david) the 10 days you are touring around Australia are you doing that on your own or by Tour company and to what places are planning on visiting? We are booked for a Hal cruise this coming Nov. and are planning a stay around Sydney, but are not sure which direction to next.
