Back some 20 years ago, I smoked, (since the age of 14). Then I started cruising some 50 years later, but, since I was able to relax I found that I had no REAL desire to smoke so I quit cold turkey.
My thanks to cruising!!!
I smoked for more than 20 years. When I finally managed to quit I threw my Camels (none of those sissy filter jobs for me!) away. It was July 3. I was supposed to go to a 4th of July party the next day but we needed to "stop off" somewhere else on the way as kind of an obligatory check-in at another party. We stayed all day. Of course the original party we were supposed to attend was still going strong the next day. (We were much younger
) so we went there on the 5th. Again we partied all day. I lived through those 2 days without smoking and decided if I was able to do that I was able to never smoke again. It's been.... I can't remember! 28 years? 30 years? Something like that. It was one of the best things I have ever done. I am really actually surprised that people start
smoking these days. Those who are smokers know it's difficult to quit and many don't really want to quit but to start smoking these days... Ah, well. Not my problem.
