Name Changing! Questions and Pointers

We will honeymooning 2 weeks after our wedding. I'm sure this is not long enough for the name change process to be completed, but should I take my marriage cert anyway? I will have my old ID, SS card, BC, etc all in my maiden name.

Also, how do I even go about changing my name??? I assume I need to get a new DL, SS card, work badge....what else? Any pointers?

If I was you, what I'd do is wait until after my honeymoon to change my name...as no, two weeks wouldn't be enough time imo to change all documents (I'm in Canada - so that would include changing my passport).

It may vary from place-to-place but how it works here is I can either legally change my name, which means EVERYTHING changes but the main difference is in my birth certificate which would be changed to his name - this involves filling out a form with the government at a small cost

...OR...

I can assume his name. To do that, I simply take my marriage certificate to the different places and ask them to change it. This is no cost - but may involve minor costs, such as getting new cheques printed. I have an extensive list on my computer at home of all the places/people I have to notify. I can share that list here if you'd like!

I am going to assume the name. So I will change everything to his name but not my birth certificate.
