Empress JS 8686

Anyone have any pics of the Junior Suite #8686 on the Empress of the Seas? Just want to see the size of the balcony and the room since it is sideways on the ship layout.

I have searched and searched, but couldn't find any. But, we went ahead and booked JS 8686 anyway for Nov 7, as the balcony looks great, even if the cabin is small (they are ALL small on Empress).

The balcony will definitely be larger than the JS's on deck 9....but you're right...the actual cabins are much smaller than the newer ships!

Yea, when I saw that cabin avail I jumped on it!! Don't even have the time off from work approved yet! Lol. Can you please take some pics when you go if we don't find any before then??

We stayed in 8686 on our Empress cruise out of Philadelphia in August 2011. At that time, it was not classified as a junior suite.here are some pics of the cabin.

I stayed Jr. Suite 9122 last month on empress and filmed a room tour.

Oops, just realized that I put the wrong date on my above post. The correct date is August 2007.

I was in 8686 several years ago (2006), just after it was reclassified as a JS. As can be seen in the photos another poster has attached, it is about 18 feet across, which is the full length of the cabin. With the beds at one end of the cabin and the desk and dresser along the walls there was a lot of empty floor space.

At the time the only inconvenience was occassional soot on the balcony. I just needed to make sure I wiped down the chairs before sitting down. I don't know if this is still an issue or not.

I have booked JS 8686 for an Oct. cruise to Havana. I have seen conflicting information about this cabin. I know the aft balconies are bigger, but I have heard that the aft JS cabins are smaller and don't have a sitting area. Is this correct?

Is that really an old 13" TV? In 2016, no flat panel? Is that true on all Empress cabins? I've got this cabin next year, love the pic's, Eileen.. thanks for posting.
