Car Rental Point a Pitre Cruise Terminal

We're thinking of hiring a car to get to Deshaies from Point a Pitre cruise terminal and wonder if anyone knows if it is necessary to book in advance please? Are there any car hire firms near the cruise port?

There is a Hertz rental located some what behind the port area. We rented last March and were so glad we did. It was very inexpensive and we saw so much. If you walk to the Hertz place, go left outside the port. Continue to the road, make left and walk about 2 blocks. Then left again.
