Sheltieluv Posted October 17, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2017 We will be boarding the Navigator on October 29 in Manhattan. If the weather is inclement and the pool deck buffet isn't an option, are there other venues such as the main dining room? Four years ago when we embarked for our Maritimes cruise from NYC , I remember enjoying a burger on the pool deck. This year the weather may not be so cooperative. (They are forecasting much colder weather by the end of next week with even some lake effect snow flurries up here!:o) Will be glad to be heading to the Caribbean..... PaulaJK Posted October 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2017 There is a lovely buffet lunch in La Veranda, clothed tables, service, etc. But inside or out, I do hope that you experience sail away from NYC. It really is a special sight. Have a wonderful cruise and update us on the Caribbean ports please. Paula
Rare wishIweretravelling Posted October 17, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2017 Sometimes Compass Rose is open instead of, or in addition to, La Veranda. They'll let you know when you board, but at least one indoor venue will be available.
Travelcat2 Posted October 17, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 17, 2017 La Veranda (a buffet dining venue) and the Pool Grill are open on embarkation day. Sometimes Compass Rose is open for guests already onboard that will be sailing on the next leg. In general, except for the Explorer, La Veranda, the Pool Grill and Compass Rose are open for lunch. DaveFr Posted October 17, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 17, 2017 If you don't want to sit on the pool deck because of the weather, you can always order something from the pool grill and have them deliver it to your table in La Veranda. You just have to give the pool grill staff your table number in La Veranda.
Sheltieluv Posted October 18, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted October 18, 2017 Thanks, everyone, for the information. I appreciate it! Paula, I'll report back on the islands. The only itinerary change is Antigua in place of Puerto Rico.
FloridaGirl1962 Posted October 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 19, 2017 I believe that all the other posters on this thread gave you sound information. Once you are on board, you will know what Regent has set up for the day. Enjoy your trip! Hope the weather will improve after your embarkation.
