what type of craft items are sold in samana?

We were just there on the Explorer and found that most of the local people were displaying jewelry and paintings - although they all looked about the same from stall to stall - nothing very fancy or unique.

From my understanding most of the jewelry is larimar and amber. How are the prices?

Awesome prices! Was that near the pier? We are going to Las Terrenas that day. There is supposed to be alot of shopping there. I am interested as to where the best deals are.

It was about 1/4 mile from the pier....I thought the shopping was good but lots of similier items. Don't be afraid to BARGIN!!!!
