How does NCL decide which Resturant you pay for on the Dinner Plan

We have six nights of dinner reservations on a seven night cruise. Night one Cirque/, Night two Moderno/ night 3 MDR/, night 4 MDR/ night 5 La Cucina/,Night 6 Cagney/ and Night 7 Moderno.

Which ones would we be charged for or do they just put the first 3 on the plan? Or are they greedy and put the cheapest on the plan and we pay for the more expensive?

On our last trip on the Escape they asked if we wanted to use the dining plan for that dinner or not.

When you arrive at the restaurant, just tell them how you are "paying". They don't choose for you.

You choose, they don't. Just tell the staff when you arrive.

Just tell the maitre d' that you're not using the SDP for that particular meal. It's generally a better value to use the SDP at the a la carte restaurants unless you're a light eater.

if you book online ahead, you want to book moderno and any with fee first. otherwise, you will have to pay up front.
