Viking Sea Beautiful Ship - Dining So So by Riverbound What I did find that I so enjoyed about Viking was the ship itself. I didn't expect this to make that much difference to the overall enjoyment of our vacation, but it did. The public spaces were so well thought out. Nooks and crannies where you could hide out, or people watch or whatever. An elevated and educated choice of decorations, art, games and books. The Fitness and Spa area is world class. I was thrilled by the selection of machines - even a rowing machine! I am an avid rower, and really thought it would be a kick to row at sea, and loved that the rowing machine faced nothing but a huge window!...Read More

Rotterdam Great itinerary and enjoyed the smaller ship size. by bfgood2 We chose this cruise for the interesting itinerary and the full transit of the Canal on a smaller ship. We were not disappointed - our 3rd HAL cruise. Food was very good, as usual, ship is spotless and beautiful and crew are outstanding. Our main disappointment would have to be the entertainment. Rotterdam dancers and singers were very good, but other entertainment only mediocre...Read More

L'Austral Cruise New Zealand without crossing the Tasman Sea by shtexas The L’Austral can hold as many as 250 passengers. On this trip there were approximately 200 passengers and 140 crewmembers. The ship is small but seemed to have very good stabilizers, when we hit rough waters. The ship had a small pool with padded lounge chairs, a fitness center with very nice views, and several viewing decks. In addition, the Captain maintained an “open bridge” policy. If the sign was green on the door to the bridge, you were welcome to come in and watch. The ship is French. The Captain and his direct reports were almost all from France...Read More

Star Princess A Wonderful Honeymoon by jokerman5000 Hawaii-themed enrichment activities also kept us all occupied, featuring classes in hula and ukulele. As you might expect, especially for first-timers to the Islands like us, such activities only helped to heighten the excitement as we neared Hawaii. And the onboard performance of Halau Hula Olana in Honolulu was exquisite. And the evening entertainment was very good, as well. We particularly enjoyed the "British Invasion" and "Born to Dance" shows, the latter making its premier during our voyage. Yes, the Princess Theater can get a little crowded for some of the more-anticipated shows - you just need to get there plenty early to make sure you get the seat you want (not that different from anywhere else on the planet)....Read More

Disney Fantasy Magical Cruise! by Don and Julie The shows were awesome! The talented staff is in every production. Very professional and the special effects are the best. They work hard. The activities staff and cruise director work very hard to make sure there is plenty to choose from in regards to shows and activities. Our grandson didn't take part in many of the activities. Character signing of course but not the organized stuff. He did spend about 45 minutes in the kids club. That was one thing we really didn't take advantage of. Themed events such as Pirate Night and Star Wars Day at Sea - people really get into dressing up. You can go as simple or as extravagant as you want. Anything goes... Read More
