Back-to-Back Question

I know this has been asked previously, but after doing a search and going back fifteen pages, I was unable to find anything. We are considering a back-to-back on the Jupiter with different itineraries (Barcelona to Rome and then Rome to Athens). Can you please let me know how Viking handles their back-to-back cruisers? Not sure if we will have the same cabin or different ones yet. If different, are we able to leave luggage on the ship somewhere until we reenter the ship? If same, are we able to leave belongings in the cabin? Are back-to-back cruisers escorted to a different line, etc.? Anyone with experience on back-to-back cruises, I would love to hear from you.

Viking has a named itinerary that does Barcelona to Athens. https://www.vikingcruises.com/oceans/cruise-destinations/western-mediterranean/mediterranean-adriatic-sojourn/pricing.html

They do that with a lot of their itineraries.

However, if you are looking to sail on the Jupiter, then you may have to put it together yourself.

If you are lucky, you will be able to book the same cabin for the entire trip. You will not need to vacate the ship or even to go thru check in again. However, you will have to go to the Customer Service desk and get a new key card because the two legs of your journey will have different booking numbers. Don't quote me on this but I believe that if you have to change cabins that staff will help you make the move as quickly and efficiently as possible--and without having to completely repack your suitcases.

Still, it will be considered one journey and you will book all of your excursions and dinner reservations at the same time.

At least, this is how it all worked when did a B2B this past January. Viking is always tweaking things.

Do you have two different reservations then? We did when we did a b2b on Star in January. We had the first leg from Rome to Barcelona booked about two years ago and then a year later we thought we may as well stay on for another week. So: two different reservations made with two different travel agents at two different times featuring two different cabins. How'd it all go? Seamlessly. When you get on the ship, go to Guest Services and let them know your situation and they'll take care of you. Essentially, on turnaround day you need to pack up all your belongings of course, and vacate your first cabin, but you won't be required to do the moving yourself. Everything will be brought to your new cabin for you. You'll get new sea passes as well and directions about when to go through the scanner with them.

In short, don't give it another thought. It's an easy process and they know the drill. They'll guide you through it with ease.

Thank you for your replies, much appreciated. Ours is the same situation, booked one leg and now deciding we might want to add another. You have put our minds at ease.

You should definitely stay on for another week!

Congrats!

For us, 7 days isn't quite enough. Just when you are really getting in the groove, it's time to disembark.

Earlier this year we did a B2B on the Star. Believe me, you won't be the only ones staying onboard on turnaround day.

Enjoy!

We did the same. I could have easily made it a B2B2B2B.
