Last minute booking

10 days, and only because the ship was sailing out of Baltimore (About an 1.5 hours drive from our home) and I didn't have to book airfare. The upsides were cheap cruise fare ($335pp to Bermuda), and we didn't have to fly. The downside was a "leftover" cabin; an inside on the lowest deck. The upside outweighed the downside.

I may have the winner here...21 hours. I was getting off one cruise and heard of a last minute cancellation on a different ship. One VISA card charge and I was on a bonus cruise. I am newly retired, loving the freedom and the foresight to save every paycheck in my retirement fund. Life is good.

Several years ago we booked a HAL cruise the day before it left. We booked directly with HAL and booked so late they did not even have our room keys or a record of us at the check in desk. We were escorted to a supervisor who took care of everything we needed to board. All we had was an email saying we were booked and our room number.
