NCL Jade first time on this ship --- aft facing balcony -- shelter from sun ??

We are going on NCL Jade in July 2019.

We have been on Celebrity and RCL before but never NCL JADE

I found the aft facing balcony on Royal Car. - wonderful , but on Celebrity there was not enough coverage from the sun.

It was BRUTAL all day - even breakfast as we love to order it to our room to enjoy on the balcony

Anyone that has been in an aft facing cabin - could you let me know your experiences about all of the cabin ??

We were in an aft on the Jade a few years ago and loved it! I don't remember sun being an issue, but we were in Med in October. It was nice weather, but not overall scorching.

We are going mid Sept.

I was on Jewel. a sister ship in an aft balcony, and there was no problem. The back of the ship is straight up and down. However I had an aft on Getaway and because back of ship is sloped had too much sun and heat. Will never get an aft on a ship like that again.

We've sailed the Jewel class aft balcony SF cabins several times. Love the balconies. I don't remember them either better or worse that other balconies we've had. Of course, it will depend on time of the day and which way you are sailing. Afternoon or morning hours, if the back of the ship is towards the sun, you are going to get a balcony full of sun.
