This is my fourth time trying this...

Well we are live from the 12/3 Regal princess western Caribbean sailing.

Arrived yesterday at the port at 10 am. There was zero lines! You could walk right into the building and check in. Then up to the preferred area. They have nicely redone this area. We were on board before 11 am! This was a first. Best embarkation ever!

Up to sign for our week long sanctuary pass then a welcome drink at our friends cabin. Afterwards it was off to fin our cabin. I’m no quite how my cabin went from being non medallion to a medallion cabin. None of the other cabins around me on either side have the panel on. We are the lone cabin!

After dropping our bags, we met up for lunch on the MDR. Always used to lthe be our lunch there on embarkation day. Not so much this time. Service from our waiter was way off. Didn’t offer our table bread and wasn’t sure about some items. I had asked for my salad dressing on the side. Bernie had a salad and his salad was a course before mine since they gave me the soup first. Instead of giving me mine own bowl of dressing the waiter picked up his bowl, looked and saw there was a tiny bit left and gave that to me! Ok, how do we know he didn’t kick the spoon!!!! My beef tenderloin dish just didn’t taste right. I always have this but the meat looked strange and I didn’t care for the taste. Both my husband’s and our friends salmon dish was over cooked. Not a great meal food wise but it sure was a great time without friends.

At 2 we went to a medallion discussion with John Padgett. Since he lives in Fort Lauderdale it’s easy for him to jump on board and do these meetings. There are 110 cabins using the technology. And the technology is working about 50% of the time. It’s only using to using about 5% of its capability. Funny enough, the one place it does work is the casino evidently. Does not open my door, can’t order anything and they still slide a card at the bars. That’s right, I need both the medallion and a card. Sounds like it will great when it’s working but it appears to be far from that.

Dinner was in Alfredo’s which was good. Quiet, almost no one there. I remember it being better on our last few trips. Bernie’s gluten free pizza was soggy and mine had way too much cheese on it. They had lunch there 3 times last week and said it was better.

164 Crew members left yesterday so maybe it’s a new chef.

Crooner was fun last night. Love running into bartenders from your last cruise who remembers you and your drink of choice!

Today we are at Princess Cay. Tonight we are doing the Winemakers dinner and I’m really looking forward to that.

Internet is a amazing! It’s truky like being on land. You can use Facebook messenger and iMessage for free. It’s great.

As far as room service goes, you can order cocktails, beers, wines by the glass, and they are offering full bottles of wine. You CAN NOT order the small bottles of liquor that used to be available. So if you want those, order ahead of time.

Off for princess cay!

Thank you for your live report! Following along.

That’s awesome about being able to use Facebook and iMessage for free! Is this one of the perks provided to everyone since ***** isn’t working? What is the cost of the service, if one had to pay?

Glad you're having fun, Carolyn! Can you let me know who was in Crooners?

Thanks,

Andrew :)

divaofdisney. Just went and looked at the map. Right now there are only 5 loungers reserved for next week. You should be okay.

For the Winemakers dinner.... there was someone coming around the main dining room to book put your name on the list. You can also call the dine line.

Jovie is back bartending at Crooners again! She just came back on board last week after being off for 4 months. I’ll have to write down the other names later when I’m back up there I was having a cocktail. I was hard at work last night trying to reach my beverage package limit so I don’t remember!!! Lol

Can’t see anyone working on anything so it’s behind the scenes.

Odd that it doesn't work for your door as it did fine for ours. Might be a problem with the scanner though. Next time you come to your room, just stand by the door for a few seconds and then put your hand on the door handle and try to push down a bit on the handle. If that doesn't do it, take your hand off the handle for a second and then put your hand back on it and push down again.

Oh, one suggestion also. My wife had her medallion on the bracelet/watchband holder and on two occasions, the catchn pin on the wristband popped out of it's hole and the whole shebang dropped off her arm. If you got the Medallion at the pier would recommend keeping it in the carrying case that it hangs on on the neckband. If you got it before you got on the ship, get one of the Navigators to give you one of the neckband things. Just a suggestion, but it might save you from losing your Medallion.

They are actually providing lanyards with the Medallions now as they apparently got the message that the wristbands were defective.

Thank you so much for doing a "live from". I especially appreciate the info about ***** since we will be trying our's out in 6 days. We were going to arrive at the port at noon but will go there earlier based on your embarkation experience. And we will avoid the MDR for lunch - sounds like it was just the two items? Have a wonderful cruise.
