St. John's shore excursion

We booked the St. John's Trunk Bay excursion through RCCI. We had been there once before and since we didn't know how bad the damage was on the island we decided to do a ship's excursion. They used Island Girl and they were top rate. We went to the other port and picked up passengers from a Carnival ship.

We arrived at Cruz Bay and were put onto small open air vehicles for our trip to Trunk Bay. We were shown all of the resorts that have been destroyed by the hurricane.

It was a cloudy day with rain so the water was not very clear. We got our snorkeling equipment and went out in the water. A ray swam right under us. It was the best thing we saw.

We were glad that we used the ship excursion. It was our only ship excursion on the 2 week cruise. The others were all private. Island Girls workers were fun and informative.

When did you go? Are the rental hut, restrooms or concessions opened back up?

We were in St. Johns on April 23. There were restrooms and showers. The only concession that I remember seeing was renting water stuff. Our equipment was included in our tour. That was one reason we chose to do the ship's excursion. We had been to St. Johns once before in the 80's and what a different place after the hurricane. Let's hope that the recovery does not take too long. It is a beautiful place.

I've been looking at this excursion on the Celebrity site... sounds like the same one. Were you picked up right at the ship? Thanks for your help.

Yes we went outside the terminal and were given a tour #. The Island Girl pulled up and we loaded right near the pier. We then went to the other port where we picked up passengers from a Carnival ship. We pulled up right to the their pier.
