How strict is Carnival on bag dimensions?

Their site says 24 x 16. My bag is 24 x 16-1/2 inches. TIA

Do you know the size of the scanner?

The measurements of the scanner are 24 x 16 x whatever.

So a bag 24 x 16.5 x 12 is fine. A box 24 x 24 x 24 is not.

If you are not checking the bag you should be OK. If it has fit through a TSA scanner then you have no worries.

I agree. Just carry on those that would fit a TSA scanner to be on the safe side.

Just to be clear the TSA scanner used for checked bags is much larger than the one that is used for carry ons and most people haven't seen one. OP, 1/2 inch shouldn't matter as long as it's a standard size suitcase.

The measurement that Carnival gives is with the suitcase LAYING FLAT. In other words, it doesn't matter how tall your suitcase is when it it standing. That's a common mistake. Any suitcase more than 24" tall when laying flat is HUGE and I would argue you simply don't need one that big.

The only thing I've heard they are sticklers on is the coolers for pop. 12x12x12 I think are the dimensions and if it is at all over they've not let people take them aboard.
