Staying at the port?

we are traveling soon with 4 adults, 4 kids...this will be our first trip to MB, and our original plan was to just stay at the beach at the port... will we regret this? The pictures of the beach look wonderful but I've also heard that the beach is not nice. How does it compare to HMC? Tying to decide if we will regret not booking an excursion here or going to a different beach.

There are better beaches on Roatan. West Bay(Tabayana) is fabulous, for example. MB's beach is on the shallow cove. Water can get murky That said, lots of cruisers spend their day there Can be a reasonably low cost day. But read about the beaches on this board. If you want to experience a more Caribbean beach, getting away from the port is the way to go

I never suggest to cruisers to stay at the port. I find it so much fun to see the islands I visit. Try googling Victor Bodden tours and send Victor an email. He has a great company. His prices are very reasonable. Victor would be happy to share information on his island to help you to decide what to do.

This is a beautiful island. Go out and see it.
