Check in time

My boarding pass indicates a check in time of 12:30 to 3:30 PM. This is our first cruise with Princess and want to know how strict this check in time is. We usually arrive at the pier around 11:00 am when sailing with RC, since they do not adhere to their designated check in times.

If we arrive earlier than our designated time will we be able to check in? Thanks for any information.

Yes, you can arrive earlier. Those are just suggested time to spread out the arrival of passengers.

You are allowed to show-up as early as you want, but you are not allowed to complain in your cruise review that you had to sit for hours to board on the designated schedule.:D

The suggested time is for the uninformed riff raff. We sophisticates that belong to Cruise Critic know better, so it improves our experience of early boarding if more people arrive when we are already on board.

We usually try to arrive between 10:30 and 11:30. Just aware that unless you have some sort of priority boarding (suite, Elite, Platinum, handicapped), that the wait can be a little bit long. On our last cruise, we talked to someone who arrived before 10 and did not board until after 1:30. Her case was unusual.
