Which Havana Room is the best?

My husband and I are going to plan a cruise on the new Horizon for around November 2018. We definitely want a Havana room and wondering which is best? The ones available for this sailing are - Havana aft, Havana Cabana, Havana Premium Vista. That is also the order from cheapest to most expensive.

Thanks for the help in advance!

We had a Havana Extended Aft Balcony and didn’t think it was worth the money as we hardly spent any time out there. However it was all we could get so I was happy. I wouldn’t even consider Vista/Horizon in a non Havana cabin. Inside would have been just fine. We loved the area so much that we were always out there and not in our cabin or on the balcony.

Get a Havana Balcony on Deck 5. We had #5239 which was last cabin before pool area.... Excellent location...so close to bar and pool area. Complete privacy on one side. Additionally you can enter your cabin from porch/balcony area (separate card) so it saves you alot of steps and you don't need to make the big circle by going through Havana Bar and entering cabin from Hallway. Loved the relaxful atmosphere and top notch pool/bar service. Doubt we will cruise again on any other Carnival ships which do not have this area.

Sorry to hijack..So those who had an interior Havana cabin did you like it? I figured that at least getting an inside it’s cheaper and you can still enjoy the amenities.

As a matter of fact....since we have had the opportunity to have a Havana Balcony cabin....Wife and I said we would seriously consider a Havana inside cabin for future cruises. #1) Cost savings #2)We found we spent little time on balcony/porch because we were always at the uncrowded and secluded Havana pool/bar area.

Why did you say you would not consider Vista/Horizon without the Havana rooms?

Because I didn’t care for the rest of the ship. The pool areas were even more crowded than on the Conquest Class. If you like you can read my Vista review. I went into what I liked about it, what I didn’t, and my experience.

Oh ok thanks and I will check out the review! Did you think the ship felt crowded? We went on Harmony of the Seas last year and the ship was beautiful but at times I could definitely tell I was with 6000 other people!

Yes I did. Others may not feel that way but I certainly do. You’ll see in the review that both my mom and I felt the same way and at one point I turned to her and said “Thank God we have Havana”. I spent the majority of my time back there and with the exception of food and casino I really had no need for the rest of the ship.

It was a toss up for us - either Horizon or Norwegian Bliss, but the stops on Horizon seemed better. The one we are looking at went to La Romana, Aruba, Curacao, and Grand Turk VS Bliss that goes to Nassau Tortola and St Thomas - which we have been to St Thomas and Nassau before.

Ok, you are all getting me very excited for next April. We have 5239 booked.

You will love that cabin and its proximity to the pool/bar area..... Hopefully they will have improved the outside seating on the porch/balcony. That was my only complaint about the Havana cabin...other 2 chairs/lounger were useless and could not be adjusted!! Swing seat is great tho!!

Great itinerary...we did it on the Vista this past November. We loved Curacao.....really nice and interesting area especially with the floating/swinging bridge!!

Unlike others....I did not think the ship felt crowded???? Yes, we stayed in Havana.... but I was a smoker back then and walked the ship regularly....always saw available loungers on pool decks and deck above pools. We cruised over Thanksgiving week so we had a full ship too. Additionally the promenade outside deck is a wonderful area to relax and is very quiet. Extremely under used in my opinion.

We had a Premium Vista Balcony (#7459) on our last sailing, and loved it. The balcony was spectacular, and we were removed enough from the Havana bar that we didn't hear the music loudly when we wanted to nap or to go to bed early.

My husband and I decided that any time we're on a ship with a Havana area, we want to be in a Havana cabin. While I didn't think the ship seemed particularly crowded (given the number of passengers), we liked not having to worry about whether or not we'd be able to squeeze into a hot tub or pool on the lido deck. It also felt more peaceful than lido feels to me.

So you can "lock" the balcony door on deck 5 and enter from the outside?

Yes....Door locks automatically when you shut it. Use access card when entering from outside and push button on wall next to door when exiting from inside.

We're in 7459 in 12 days for an 8 day southern.

Can't wait.

We're 6469 for an upcoming cruise on Horizon. It was a bit of a splurge, but in all honesty no more expensive than a typical (i.e. not heavily discounted) AquaClass A1 on Celebrity. I had heard varying complaints that the lanai furniture for the cabana wasn't comfortable- like the back of the swing doesn't provide enough support if you're kind of tall, that kind of thing. Nothing terrible, but I didn't want to chance it. Plus, it's for my 40th. Just decided to splurge. Enjoy quiet time on the balcony reading and what not.

We loved our Havana interior, normally we have balconies for private outdoor space but with a havana room you dont need it, we love this area its relaxing and quiet and you dont realise your cruising with 4000 others! we had the interior on the 7th floor one of only two up there, we have booked it again for August 2019
