Yes, I took it and cannot recommend it highly enough. Our guide was Larry and he worked very hard to make it the great experience it was. When we went to the National Park we did hire a local guide at $15 pp, as Larry did not go in with us. Well worth it.

Hi, a couple questions:

1. Why did you hire a guide to go into the National Park?

2. The tour writeup says you can eat lunch at a beach spot or at a spot overlooking Limon. Which did you choose? and.....if one did choose the beach spot, would one be able to go in the water safely?

Thank you.

We hired a guide at the National Park because the Syl tour guide was not going into the park. Our group voted to take an hour and a half to enjoy the park. We realized that we really did not know what we were looking at and had questions, so to get the full benefit, a friend went back to the check -in place and hired the park guide. He showed us animals we would not have seen, explained about the plant life around us and really made it interesting. We would have enjoyed the park even without a guide, but would not have gotten as much out of it.

There are picnic tables along the ocean in the park, but our group voted to eat at a local restaurant, which was delicious. Our Syl tour guide chose the restaurant and helped with our selections and payment. My lunch, which was beans, rice, marlin and a large lovely papaya drink came to about $13.00 .

Hello NY/FLlife,

Thank you! This is very helpful! We did book this tour after all our research, and your comments are very helpful and make us feel we have made the right decision for us! From the prairies of central Canada to Costa Rica is going to be a really exciting experience for us!
