Hi Alla ;)

I forgot your next sailing is a B2B, nice :)

Unfortunately, I've always received a separate certificate for each sailing of my B2B. Have always been told by CR, they can not combine certificates for the same member. If you and Boris are each getting a certificate on your B2B, I would definitely ask CR when you come back, they may make an exception.

Have a wonderful cruise, I know you guys will :D

Best of luck in the casino!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I'm about to be done with Club Royale.

During my recent cruise on Anthem of the Seas, I had a really good run with some handpays and earning over 12,000 points, well beyond what I typically earn over a week. At the end of the cruise, I received the standard free-balcony/$1000-off certificate that one gets at 4,800 points. I thought to myself, "Gee, if I earned almost triple the number of points for their top-level certificate, maybe I'll get a better offer than what the certificate gives me."

So, I called them up this afternoon. I talked with one of the Club Royale representatives and was told that, indeed, that certificate is as good as it gets, no matter how many points you've earned. I might be able to get an exception to this, but I can't find out about it because it would be for a booking I've already got for next October, and that booking is held by a travel agent. I was told that if I were to get an exception with a better offer, I'd have to accept it right then and there or else it'd go away.

This is ridiculous. I can't believe that they're essentially discouraging players. I've heard from another Club Royale member that once they earn the 2,400 points to get a free cruise in an inside cabin, they stop playing in the casino altogether because it's just not worth it to play any more.

Is this really the message that Club Royale wants to give us?

Marc,

All of that plus:

6:5 on blackjack tables unless you are betting $25+

You won't be allowed to take even money on a blackjack with dealer's ace showing on a 6:5 table

single odds on Craps unless you are at the $25+ level on pass / come bets.

I let them have it on the post cruise survey SPECIFICALLY regarding the blackjack rule changes.

I do enjoy cruising Royal so much, but this part of my vacation/entertainment is increasingly one sided for RCCL.

Yes it seems that is the message they are content with giving us.

I believe, not sure, but believe that the Balcony Comp/$1000 is the largest Certificate one would receive on the ship. I had 14k points on 11 night and that was the max.

CR may give you more when you discuss your options with them.

Yes, I believe this to be true as well.

They certainly didn't when I called them this afternoon. The woman made it seem like it was something she'd try to see if she could do, but that she'd be going out of her way to do so and it would be take-it-or-leave-it.

Doesn't pay to play in the cruise ship casino. I play at land based casinos and have 3 free cruises lined up for next year.

That's why'I cash out when I'm up $1,000 or more at the end of whatever roulette session I finish. For the cruise. Sometimes it only take 15 minutes.

I haven’t called recently, but I was assigned a specialist by CR and she used to handle my bookings. She has since left but her extension number rings up another CR Specialist. I think these people only dealt with their high pointers.

Things could have changed.

I agree that they try to sound like they are doing you a favor now. We have EN booked for next year. We booked a few months ago when they were still doing casino rate and you could apply play based discount or certificates on top.

As the EN has been cancelled by RC I rang up to start figuring some alternatives. I was flat out told no they will not transfer my booking with casino rate and extra discount - I have to lose one. The person I spoke with said "well it's been a while since you booked. A lot has changed" yet he wouldn't go into many specifics.

He made it sound like he was going out of his way to offer me a discount on a Bogo rate even though me and my DH are losing $1750 in certs between us. We are not low end gamblers by any means.

I will let resolutions sort it out with them but absolutely no point now gambling any more than needed if can't even get anything extra to a casino rate.

We have booked MSC so will give that a try. Looking at sorting out X - at least their program is clear and transparent.

I understand your frustration. I played once recently with a man who must have lost $10,000 and all he received was the same certificate as you. I feel divided because I understand how you feel but on the other hand, CR is now giving some benefits to lower level players like me. Katherine

I think I'm also done with Casino Royale.

I called yesterday to book a cruise for the new release 2019 itinerary but was quoted a price that I can book on-line myself with my Diamond discount. They told me that they no longer can give casino rates until a year prior to my sailing. I have always been able to book at casino rates without a problem. They also told me that my $1,000 off certificate is only good if you sail within one year. I know it has always said that but they used to honor it anyway if you already had a cruise booked, which I do. In fact the casino discount they gave a week after I returned was greater than the certificate. She said there is no more budging on bookings and the offers are firm. I called back later in the day, because sometimes someone else is willing to work with you, but received the same information. I think I will stick to land based casinos and receive the much better offers the provide. I don't what all the hype was when they were saying they are revamping the program to better serve out customers. They revamped it to better serve their bottom line. Thanks for letting me vent. :-)

Yes, I concur that they are no longer "fudging" these rules. Also, they will no longer combine casino rates with certificate values.

These are bad things BUT I will also add that they are now calculating casino rates in conjunction with other discounts which used to NOT be allowed. My last couple of casino rates have included BOGO, senior rates, C&A balcony discounts plus casino discounts. While these discounts are still subject to the 1 year rule, stated above, I think they actually are a big better, in the long run, than the old way of calculating the discounts where you could not combine any of the other discounts.

Typically, we book the cruise and then call CR for our discount, which has always been more than the $1000 Certificate. We generally stay in full suites.

As a somewhat surprising result, I found out this afternoon that my travel agent worked with Club Royale to get me a comped junior suite on my cruise next October.

I'm glad that they did end up recognizing my level of play on my last cruise. I do, however, wish that they had a more open system so that people would know what they should be able to get rather than having to get an "exception".

Latest comped cabins from Royal CR.

We picked Adventure of the Seas sailing 1/6/18 from this offer. Close enough for us to call it our New Years cruise. An ABC cruise was on my wife's bucket list and I was ready to use a $500 trade in value from an earlier offer when this offer hit my inbox.:D
