cadn05 Posted December 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2017 We are wanting to fly to LAX the day before our cruise and stay close to the LAX airport and catch a transfer from the hotel to the Long Beach Carnival port the next morning. I was told there were several available but can't seem to find any information online. Does anyone know what LAX Hotels offer this service or have a shuttle service that picks up at their hotel? TIA Dianne

TIA Dianne It’s 23-26 miles from LAX to Long Beach. NO LAX area hotels offer a free shuttle to the port. Most have shuttles from the terminals to the hotel, but getting to the port is on your dime. There are several shuttle companies, limo companies and Uber/Lyft that can get you to Long Beach the next day... But staying near LAX sucks...nothing there. Better to shuttle or Uber directly to Long Beach and stay near the port. Hyatt, Hyatt Centric, Renaissance, Westin, Hilton, Maya Doubletree, Residence Inn Downtown. Stay in one of those...things to do, lots of restaurant choices, close to the pier.. Edited December 30, 2017 by Bruin Steve
SadieN Posted December 30, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 30, 2017 Hotel Maya and the Queen Mary are the closest to the dock. Know that the Queen is around 80years old and does show her age. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Cruisin' Chick Posted December 31, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2017 I echo the rec not to stay by LAX (unless you have an early flight the next morning). To get an idea of the area near there, think strip malls in the literal sense.
cruisingwithcarrie Posted January 16, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 16, 2018 We stayed on the Queen Mary 2 years ago. Won't do it again. It was so dusty. Loved visiting the ship, but my allergies severely paid for it that night. It just felt grimy. I am now seeking a hotel for our cruise this summer. Thanks to those for the advise to stay away from LAX.
Kartgv Posted January 16, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 16, 2018 I agree with others who have said not to stay at LAX - unless you are arriving late at night and know that after a long day of travel, you would not be able to cope with finding your transportation and embarking on another trip before getting to your hotel. We fall into that category - we're wiped out after flying and just want to fall into the nearest bed. All depends on your travel comfort zone.
