Why I never get Casino offers! Could not believe.

This is the answer I received form the Casino when I ask why I never get any offers. I was surprised.

Hi Paul,

The offers you would be qualifying for are sent to guests who are not future booked. As you book your cruises so far in advance, you would be receiving those particular offers. That would be the only reason as your profile is opted into marketing from the brand. Thanks!

Guess they already got me coming back so they don't need to woo me. lol

We always book really last minute over the last 10 years and for at least 6 prior Carnival cruises in the middle of about 20 and NEVER recd a casino related booking offer.

My best educated guess is the guest would have to be an established (losing) gambler. To each their own. I'll take my DH's military rate any day and a daily stroll on the jogging track when the sun comes while on my cruise!

We've been booked for 5 months on a casino freebie... and have gotten several mailed and email offers.

The grammar/spelling in the email you posted don't seem very professional. I'm surprised that an employee at that level doesn't have better English skills.

That confirms exactly what I have been saying all along. I got one when I hadn't been on Carnival for 3 years. Came back, and had a new cruise booked within a month of leaving the ship each time after that. Never saw a casino offer again during that time. But my sister who hasn't been back since that initial one, ALWAYS has them and she only has 5 VIFP points. I am Gold.

I cancelled my upcoming Splendor cruise for next May. Within a week - guess what I got? Yep - a Casino offer. So I booked for the Glory for May using it.

My PVP swears it doesn't work like that, but I told him BS. I know exactly how it works. This confirms it.

None us us are big gamblers, although my mom did get the Drinks on us Card on the 4th night of a 5th night cruise, so I don't think we'll ever get the almost free offers. For those, I don't think they care if you have any cruises booked. It's just the "Normal" Casino Rate (PTC) like I got that they won't give you if you're currently booked.

That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

You do not need to be a loser. I won on my last two cruises. You just need to give the casino lots of play.

I always have a cruise booked. Usually more than one. I get casino offers every few months. Unfortunately, I can't take advantage of them because all of hubby's time off is budgeted for the already booked cruises and other family occasions.

I second the posts that state offers don't come to customers who have a sailing already booked. While I'm sure there are exceptions my experience was that on the last night of a Premier Casino cruise in May, envelopes were distributed to players club members containing a wealth of offers. My letter stated that since I had already booked another cruise (NYE) I should contact the players club before sailing. Accumulated 14000 points on the sailing (a couple of $1500 progressive hits returned in large part) and the Club offered $100 for the NYE cruise. Better than nothing. Have since cancelled for other reasons. Doing an AI instead.

I got off the Miracle in Feb, after 7-days of fairly steady losing, but not enough points to get anything on the ship. By March, I had a casino offer for a no single supplement 4-days cruise with casino cash that only set me back $125. I was really surprised. Haven't had anything since, although I have booked on the platinum diamond offer. I only book cheap cruises and not that far in advance

I was surprised with 4 chocolate covered strawberries on the 3rd day of 4 day cruise. Compliments of the casino. They were delicious.

Be honest now, how much did those 4 chocolate covered strawberries really 'cost' you? ;)

Paul, you are the perfect cruise line customer. You partake in the casino, which is a huge money maker for Carnival, and you don't need to be 'incentivised' to re-book. Just cancel you cruise booking and wait for Carnival to come knocking.;) And they will!!!! :D

You are so correct. My wife and I went on the Dream 3 years ago. We lost 5k over the 7 days.

We kept getting offers that got progressively better but we were getting better offers from land based casinos.

Finally, after 2.5 years of not cruising we received an offer to cruise on Carnival from a port 20 minutes from our home. We were given free drink cards, a great rate and $1000.00 in cash.

We lost $1500.00 on that cruise and were awarded a comped cruise on the last night. That cruise came with free drink cards and a steakhouse dinner.

The last night of that cruise we were given another comped cruise. We had lost $1700.00 on that cruise.

On the second comped cruise we were given a steakhouse dinner, three bottles of wine, drink cards on the first night, $100.00 in cash, strawberries and who knows what else.

On that second comped cruise we won the first night and never had to use our own money after that. We did so well that by the last night we were tipping $25.00 for the dealers and playing $100.00 hands.

We played more BJ on that last cruise than the other cruises combined. We also played at a much higher average bet than before but alas no free cruise. Needless to say I will hold out for a good offer from CCL even if it takes 2.5 years like it did before.

Michael, from the players club told me amount of play has nothing to do with comped cruises, it is how much you lose. If you lose $1500.00 or more you get a free cruise and drink cards. This is the only time in 25 years of gambling that I have been told average bet X hours played doesn't factor into comps.

I am not complaining because I was treated well by CCL, I will just wait for another good offer and more than likely cruise NCL until that offer comes in.

Carnival free cruise casino offers are based on your play. If you don't spend any time in the casino why should you even think you should get the offers?

You can't begin to imagine the number of people with the mentality that the casino is so hard up for business that they will give away free steakhouse for four and bottles of wine for an hour of $6 blackjack.

I was given an offer for a Premier cruise and I agree it was because we hadn't booked with Carnival for about a year and a half. I wasn't able to do the cruise, but I did book another one shortly after with no benefit other than a "deluxe bon voyage package." That had two bottles of water and a bottle of wine with some chocolate covered strawberries.

I booked another cruise and was told I would get a "standard bon voyage package." I asked why I had been downgraded and was told I didn't have enough points even though I had reached the 1500 mark and when I wasn't offered the drinks on us card, I played very little. I was told I had to ask for the card which I never had to do when sailing on Dream from Pt Canaveral.

We are booked again, and the casino said I would get nothing because I didn't spend enough on the last cruise. Oh well, if getting the 1500 points (without any win more than $40) isn't enough, so be it. I am not happy with their decision, but I can't do anything about it.

After this cruise, we may book Royal Caribbean again and I will see if we get any more offers from Carnival, I doubt that we will, but that's ok. I am not a big time gambler with Carnival as I usually lose about $800 or more. I know they have their rules and obviously my loss is not enough for them.

It has nothing to do with how much you actually lose; it is based upon your theoretical loss. You could actually win money or just break even and still receive free cruise offers. The casino calculates your theoretical loss by taking your average wager, multiplying it by the length of time you gambled, and then taking that figure and multiplying it by the casino edge in the game(s) you played.

I really believe that the free offers (pay $100/get $100 OBC) are rather random. I took advantage of the offer in Aug/Sept and was again given the offer which I'm taking in Feb. I do not spend alot of money in the casino - In Aug/Sept I did a B2B on the Breeze - in 14 days I spent less than $800 in the casino and yet was given the offer again.

So, I'm not sure how I've managed to get these deals, but it certainly isn't because I spend thousands of dollars in the casino. I do spend quite a bit of time in there. I'm hoping that I've somehow been put on "the list" - whatever the reason, I'm thrilled.

You are wrong when it comes to how Carnival rates players. How much you lose definitely comes into play when it comes to CCL. This comes straight from the horses mouth at both the Ocean Players Club and Carnivals's Players Club.

As mentioned in over 25 years of gambling this is the first casino I have heard of that actually bases comps on how much you lose and not theoretical loss.

Yes you will still get offers even if you win, but losses definitely are part of the equation. See my post on the previous page.

If you really want to scratch your head concerning CCL and how they rate players check out this thread http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2058770
