There has been discussions on it. P'dam is sold and chartered back to HAL until July 1, 2019.

See the various threads on not only her sale but how it has affected various itineraries after July 1st.

It was inevitable. Kind of sad, really. We thoroughly enjoyed our journeys on The Elegant Explorer.

And many people have been notified by HAL and their TA's about options for new itineraries when their Prinsendam cruises were cancelled.

Some people are okay with the changes -- others not so much. You can't make everyone happy.

It seems the Rotterdam is now the Prinsendam, it has picked up most of the cruise itineraries. Of course, you have the ripple-down effect. What replaces the Rotterdam, and then what replaces that ship and on and on ? Somewhere at the bottom of the priorities, some cruises are just outright cancelled.

I noticed this. Having sailed on the Volendam's complete Maiden Asia/Pacific cruise in 2002, I can state without hesitation that she is well qualified to give her 2020 guests a wonderful cruise experience on such a long cruise.
