I've been doing some research for a future Hong Kong visit and thought this site was particularly helpful.

Appreciate this posting and sharing from Diane. From the Sidney Morning Herald and other Fairfax newspapers in Australia last week, they have this headline: Tips and things to do in Hong Kong with these highlights: “So much to offer – the scrumptious dining scene, the shopping for every budget and whim, the dynamic culture, the lush mountains and islands – it's more a case of why not. There aren't many other places in the world where you can be hiking up a mountain or boating across the harbour one hour, and sipping a cocktail or devouring the world's best dumplings in a buzzing city laneway the next. There's ancient Chinese religion to be experienced in the temples, as well as some of the world's most exciting new design stores and hotels. Whether it's your first, fifth or 50th visit, this destination is endlessly varied and completely enchanting."

Bring back many nice memories from earlier this year. It includes doing both of these locations: "Taking the funicular up to The Peak viewing platform, the highest point on Hong Kong Island, is an excellent way to get the lay of the land and understand just how much of this city is set aside for parklands. For an alternative view of the city, jump aboard a local sampan and cruise Aberdeen Harbour, passing houseboats, yachts and trawlers en route."

From the London/UK Daily Mail earlier this week, they had this headline:“Dim sum in Hong Kong, Lonely Planet reveals the world's 500 best meals with these highlights about food in this city being among: the top food experiences in the world by the travel experts at Lonely Planet. They come top of a mouth-watering list of the world's best 500 culinary experiences that Lonely Planet has ranked for a new tome titled the Ultimate Eatlist - a foodie bucket-list that takes into account not just the taste, but the atmosphere that dishes are eaten in.

YES!! We super loved both the setting in and around Hong Kong, plus the excellent tasty foods we enjoyed there. Below is one of the many visuals featured with this story. Brings great memories from visiting there earlier this year. More on my full live/blog about top-ranked San Sebastian in NW Spain.

Here is a nice picture for tasting a stack of quintessential dim sum in Hong Kong. This dining treat is ranked as the world's tenth-best food experience. The earlier picture showed stalls along the bustling Temple Street Market.:

From the BBC earlier this month, they had this headline: “Asia's capital of connection” with this sub-head: "Hong Kong has been both a part of Imperial China and the British Empire – giving it the East-meets-West vibe that locals love." Many, many interesting details and visuals are included as a part of this profile. Worth checking out!!

Here were some key story highlights: Once a small fishing and farming village, Hong Kong is now among the world’s busiest ports and most important centres of trade. 'Hong Kong is a busy metropolis still steeped in Chinese tradition,' said seven-year resident Ski Yeo, a founder of walking tour company Big Foot Tour. 'Take the architecture. Regardless of how modern or progressive the building seems – like the HSBC building by Lord Norman Foster and Bank of China by IM Pei – many of these buildings were built with the concept of Chinese feng shui in mind.' For example, the HSBC building has an open atrium ground floor, thought to allow wind and good qi (energy) in.
