Spirit LA - LA via Auckland

Last night was the crew talent show which was attended by almost all the passengers - the best turn out for any show this voyage. The show was hosted by Jason and Vicki who added much comedy to the evening. There were songs by 7 or 8 very talented crew members and a hilarious female impersonation by Don, the CD. The evening was capped off by several Abba songs sung by a cast of six crew members in drag and one of the Artists of Silversea. We had to look closely to realize that two of those singers in skirts and wigs were Flavio the HD and Carl the cruise consultant performing next to Nicolas the F & B manager, Newton the Bar manager and Michele the HR manager. It was a raucous way to end a simply wonderful evening.

Thanks to everyone involved for making this such an enjoyable event. It leaves us with very warm feelings for the senior officers and staff, crew and fellow passengers on this voyage.

The Artists did get a huge send off last night and they have been around the ship today saying their good byes.

They are a charming group of people and we hope they will do well in their next careers. We do know that one will be filling in as a cruise director on the Wind for several months, and we know that she will do a fabulous job.

This cruise has been simply the best all around. Even the staff has remarked on how the passengers and staff/crew seemed to gel and form a tight knit family.

We will truly miss everyone on board and know that this feeling can never be reproduced.

As Bob Hope used to sing, "Thanks for the memories..."

And as Silversea sings at the farewell party "Simply the best..."

Our sincere thanks to everyone who made this such a wonderful experience.

Victoria & Bob

We have enjoyed the Artists. Unlike our previous experiences on the larger lines the entertainers on the Wind were very much a part of the crew and staff. It's not that they were intrusive, far from it, but it wasn't like they hid away or were off in some corner of the ship in their little group. If you ran into one on the ship they'd often stop and chat particularly if you'd met them say on a tour or in some other venue. Hard to put into words but the bottom line was that the Artists, at least the ones we got to know over three cruises, were a welcomed addition and we'll miss them.

Glad to hear this. All 100+ of them have done a great job over the last 3 years. Thanks too to Soozi and her production crew at Choozi for putting the program together, and finding and supporting the Artists. We will miss them all.
