Planning a true to Aruba for my honeymoon staying on Marriott points and news hlep deciding between 2 hotels:

Renaissance Aruba resort

Or

Aruba Marriott resort and Stellaris casino.

Would like good resturants close by as I don't anticipate eating at the resort much to save a few bucks.

Thanks!!

There are pros and cons to both. Marriott is on Palm Beach, which is very busy. It is a beautiful property, with lots of restaurants, bars, and shopping right there. The water is very calm, lake like. The beach gets very congested, but if you like a lively area, with lots to do and lots of restaurants and bars, that's the place for you.

Renaissance is downtown. If you decide on Renaissance , make sure that you book in the Ocean Suites, not the Marina hotel. These are two different properties, and the Marina is not on the water. The Ocean Suites is on the water, but it is not on one of Aruba's resort beaches. However, it has a nice lagoon on the property instead of a beach front. We just bought a timeshare there, and we love to spend the day at the lagoon. It does have a sandy entrance, and you can swim in it. Renaissance has it's own private island, which is the draw there, and they have boats that take guests over all day. It is very nice, with flamingos walking around, and a restaurant . The downtown area isn't as bustling as Palm Beach at night, but there are quite a few great restaurants within walking distance, or a short taxi ride away. There are two casinos downtown, and quite a few along Palm Beach.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for. Both are great properties.

Are you staying at the Marriott in Palm Beach? I know that they were the only properties that you were originally considering. I think that you will be very happy with your choice. There is so much to do there. Congrats!

Surf Club is a timeshare resort. They rent rooms when they are available. If you go there, you'll probably have a studio or a one bedroom. The advantage is that you would have a kitchen. You could pick up some groceries at the store, and fix breakfast or lunch in your room, then go out for dinner . That's what we do. We'll be back in Aruba for two weeks in February.

Natural Pool - Look at ABC Tours, Depalm Tours, and Kini Kini Tours. I'm sure that there are others that are also good. Just know that it is a very rough ride, and they don't recommend it for people with back or neck issues.

Sunset tours- I highly recommend Black Pearl. They only take around 16 or 18 people, where the others might have 40 or more people. They have very nice, individual loungers, mostly in the shade. They serve fruit, gouda and tomato sandwiches, and later make great grilled cheese sandwiches . They serve drinks the entire time. They go to several snorkeling stops, but not everyone snorkels, so you can just enjoy the boat if you don't want to. They are a class act. They book up quickly, so if you are interested , book about 3 months in advance.

Others that are popular are Jolly Pirates and Midushi. Jolly Pirates has a rope swing. These are much more crowded .

If you have the points, book the Ritz which is next to the Marriott on Palm Beach. Their beach is not crowded. It’s your honeymoon, go for it!
