Any suggestions for hotels before a cruise in Vancouver.Wondering if it's just as easy to book hotel and transfers from the airport and cruise port through princess.

Want to stay 2 nights in Vancouver pre cruise and then will fly to Victoria and home from there.

I second the Pan Pacific. Great location and just an elevator ride away from the cruise terminal. Also, the SkyTrain from the airport ends it's run about a block from the Hotel so very easy to get to if you are light on luggage.

Pan Pacific is great for pre-cruise as you go straight from the hotel lobby to your ship. If you get the special cruisers package, there's also free internet and breakfast for 2, late checkout (2:00pm), and they'll even take your luggage from your room to the porters. It's especially good for days when there are multiple ships in port; on those days, just getting near the pier in a taxi can take forever.

Our favorite for post-cruise is the Westin Bayshore. We'll splurge for a bay view room and the views are spectacular. We love watching our ship head back out with a new set of passengers the afternoon after our cruise ends!

While it's worth checking hotel prices if you're shopping at the higher end of the market (many reports of HAL cruisers getting better-than-publically-available deals at the PP), never, ever, EVER book a cruiseline transfer in Vancouver. Words cannot express just how much of an utter waste of money it is - without breaking CCs code on swearing;). The per person rate for a transfer (~US$24-29) is basically the same as getting your own cab (CAD$31+tip to virtually all downtown hotels) - and a couple can get a towncar (~double the cab price). If you're a family or friends group of 4+, a full-on stretch limo is cheaper!

If you want a cheap hotel then the YWCA downtown gets my vote - best deal in the region, great location for walking around, transit, or HOHO bus, and if you can't handle the mile to the pier with bags a cab will cost less than $10 (probably closer to $15 on a cruise morning if you get dropped inside the terminal though, as it's a serious bottleneck and the meter keeps ticking up while you crawl along the last block and down the ramp).

We live very close to Downtown and have stayed at both the Bayshore and Pan Pacific, both are nice. I would have to say the Pan Pacific would be my first choice. If you do stay at the Bayshore the taxi ride is only about $10.00 we did it ourselves in May. If you go to the Bayshore there is a great little restaurant right on the water there called The Lift which has a great Happy Hour. You won't be disappointed with either hotel.

Depends what you are looking for, but the BEST deal in town (in my opinion) can be found at The Blue Horizon on Robson Street. Great hotel at moderate prices, close to everything, killer views!

We stay at the Pan Pacific using the AAA rate (booked it last week for our May 2018 Alaska cruise - yay!). A luxury, but comfortable beds/rooms, wonderful location and it's an exciting beginning to a cruise. Many dining options off-site with great shopping nearby.

If you share your tentative hotel dates.... we can provide better suggestions based on rates, availability and potential festival congestion advice.

Yes there are savings looking to hotels a few blocks away from the cruise terminal... especially for a multi-day experience.
