Casino at Sea win loss statement

I saw the link online for the win loss statement -- it says it has to be notarized. My mom and I had handpays on our Feb and June 2016 cruises, but, as one would expect, losses exceeded winnings. Has anyone received their statement if it was signed but not notarized? Is there another option my fellow CAS cruisers are aware of? I've learned so much about CAS on this site.

We were planning to ask about the statement on our cruise, but we had to cancel our January Escape for health reasons and getting my 88 year old mom out to get a form notarized isn't really an option at this time. I called CAS yesterday and after a 40 minute hold, I was connected to someone who sounded exhausted and didn't have a clue what form I was referencing.

Worse case, home casino losses cover the wins, but the notary requirement seems excessive. I assume it's for our protection but land casinos permit the request through email.

Thanks and happy cruising!

Angela

I agree that it's a big pain in the butt. Mainland casinos (even the Indian ones) have systems in place to get the win/loss statements online.

I can't answer your question about whether NCL would accept a non-notarized request. I did, however, ask once while I was onboard if I could get a win/loss statement before debarking, and I was told no, that it had to be requested through the corporate office.

My guess is CAS is considered an offshore casino, which adds a lot of complexity to the rules... But I am unclear who is supposed to provide the notarization...

Not sure what is complex. You sign the form. A US notary public signs the form. You mail/email the form to NCL and they return a statement that allows you to help determine how to fill out a US tax return

Got one last year. I just went to my local bank and got it notarized. No big deal. Got our win/lose shortly after we submitted the form.

Hi Cruisin Harvey, did you submit via email (winloss@ncl.com?) We submitted over a week ago, and second request yesterday, with notarized forms, and have not heard back. Did they send you the statement via email or snail mail?

thanks in advance
