I am so excited to have booked our first suite cruise!! The combination of casino discount and 3rd & 4th passengers for a dollar made it the only choice. It will be 4 adults (me, mom, sis and like a sis). It's going to be amazing! Life has been rough last 5 months. Mom (83) has been sick for 5 months and is slowly recovering. Can't wait for the suite life!!

Congratulations on your upcoming suite! I bet your family is going to love it. I am staying in a suite for the first time on my next cruise. Please report back what it was like for you!

Congrats. You'll love it. We had our first suite in December on the Royal thanks to an upsell and easily went back to just a balcony cabin on the Regal last month. The things we missed the most were breakfast at Sabatini's and the roomy shower. A lot of the other suite amenities are nice, but we did not miss them as much. Being Elite helped since some of the suite benefits are things we already get, such as free laundry and mini bar setup.

Currently, booking a suite for a similar itinerary to what we took would be more than $4,000 more than a balcony cabin. (Thanks to the upsell and casino rate, we paid less than an ocean view cabin would cost this year.) We'd rather go more often than go in style.

We had a suite once, many cruises ago. Very nice but would never pay full price for one.

It's funny our last 5 or so cruises have been balcony (thanks Regal & Royal Emerald Deck and Theo's site) but I originally booked an interior. Found I booked under Neptune pool, moved to obstructed oceanview. Then saw the $1 3rd and 4th passengers. Only possible way to take advantage was the Vista suite. I hope I can go back to an interior .

Did you get complementary vouchers for specialty dining?

Life is good when you do all suite. You’ll be spoiled. :)

Enjoy.

Which ship and deck are you on?

Give your mom the bed! That sofa bed is small and very uncomfortable. You have the room so you might want to request a rollaway. Our son started complaining about it in college and we started putting him solo in an inside. It was actually cheaper than being the 3rd person in the suite. I can't imagine four ladies sharing a bathroom. But you got a terrific price - good for you. So nice of you to include your mom. Hope she has a wonderful time and continues to improve.

What ship and cabin number??

Everyone is different, which is why there are many cabin choices and locations to pick from. We enjoy our own company/privacy, so we always book aft suites which provide large, private balconies, a great view, larger shower and living space, more closet/storage space. We prefer the slower paced breakfast at Sabatinis with its personalized service. The option to dine in and order from the MDR menu is a nice option, and nothing beats a full breakfast on disembarkation morning in the privacy of your suite, and the option to stay in your room a bit longer while you wait for your time to depart. The longer the cruise, the higher the price but also the more pleasurable the stay (at least for us, its worth it).

We are in d737 on the Caribbean Princess. My petit friends will take the sofa. Mom and sister in the twin beds. I will take the upper. The aft balcony will be our living room.

My mom (and dad who has since passed) took me on my first cruise in 2005. On the Caribbean Princess. I have been hooked ever since. And although the Regal is my favorite ship the CB was my first so it's special. Although I hope and pray it's not my last cruise with my mom, it very well could be.

Enjoy the experience. You are in trouble if you have the same situation as when you try your first balcony and say you won't go back to an oceanview or interior.

Not true for all people. We go back & forth from balcony to inside/outside view depending on price.

We were recently on the Emerald Princess in a penthouse suite the perks are nice such as the club class dining and breakfast in the Crown grill but the room on the Emerald was unremarkable the couch was small and worn out, no double vanity in the bathroom, two small TVs not interactive, no decent sized table for dining in the room and the phones did not work properly we had the technical people 4 times in the room, no coffee machine in the room, I’m sure the Suites on other Princess ships must be nicer but on the Emerald they are in need of major improvements.

Same here! We mostly book obstructed OV cabins on Princess even bough we’ve sailed in all cabin cabin types including interior cabins. We booked our first full suite ever ... and like the OP, probably our last. This is not because I think we won’t like it but it was our splurge. I’d rather go on two or three sailings per year than one that is double or triple the cost. We book what the budget will bear.

Our next three bookings are in OV (2), and balcony (1). We will definitely have a great time on each. A couple of my all time favorite cruises were in interior cabins. I’ve only had one really bad cruise and that was in a balcony cabin.

We mostly do Minis with a few suite upgrades thrown in. Tried a 4 day cruise in late 2016 in a premium balcony to see if we could live with one of those and it didn't work. At 6'8" the shower didn't fit and the DW couldn't handle me in the smaller room. Back to the Minis we go and pray for the suite upgrades.

Have fun on your trip.

I have seen the prices vary quite a bit for 3rd and 4th in a full suite but never for $1. We got bit by the suite bug and have sailed 4 in a grand class Vista a number of times. The toilet is separate from the shower so getting 4 through the bathroom was no big deal for us.

Was the $1 a general website promo available to anybody or was it Email or something else that was being offered specifically to you?

I think 3rd and 4th passengers for a dollar is still going on for summer sailing. BUT you don't see it until AFTER you select the cabin. I don't know if it's only the Caribbean.
