Pharmacy Purchases

Just curious if anyone has bought any personal use medications at a Pharmacy in Cozumel that usually require a prescription in the US? Things like Latisse (eye lashes), antibiodics or other medications that are costly in the US.

Any problems with the medications? Are they the actual meds or fake? Any problems bringing them through customs?

On our first ever cruise in 2016, I purchased the generic form of Latisse (Bimatoprost) from a port pharmacy in Costa Maya, and it was authentic and worked just fine. Back then it was $40 I think. On our cruise this past Feb, the price was higher in most pharmacies, about $52 - $55 on average.

At first I was thinking that it would be best to go to somewhere like Farmacias Similares or Chedraui because they are large chains and likely to good quality control. However, it is possible that they may not stock items as described above because they are targeting locals rather than tourists.
